Buildings of architectural
quality are based on clear ideas and concepts. The term 'concept'
means a clearly defined program, a guiding idea,
or an inspirational idea for a work. Architects are familiar with
concepts of space, structure, energy, and mechanical systems. Architects
performed their cultural duty when they succeed in uniting all the
ideas and concepts into a sensible whole and thus into an architecture
of high quality.
This is the basic idea of the School of Architecture
at Winterthur Polytechnic, School of Engineering.
